Class Descriptions:
THE “WERK”
Pilates by Mychele
ALL LEVELS - 55 MINS
You may think that Pilates requires being flexible or a specific body type, but that’s not what this is about. This class will help you connect with your body on a deeper level and do things that you didn’t think you were capable of. Expect to stretch, sweat, flow, and experience the classical Pilates “werk” with a twist to upbeat, yet mellow music...minus the pan flutes. Equipment/Props: Mat, exercise bands (large resistance band and/or small bands: light to medium), magic circle, small exercise ball (8-9 in diameter), hand weights (1-5 lbs)
BARRE INSPIRED WERK
ALL LEVELS - 55 MINS
This class combines elements of ballet, Pilates, yoga and light weight training for a total body workout. Your own body will be challenged as you strengthen your muscles and focus on your core, stability and balance.
Equipment/Props: Chair (optional), exercise bands (large resistance band and/or small bands: light to medium), and hand weights (1-5 lbs)
STRETCH WERK
ALL LEVELS - 55 mins
Increase your range of motion and flexibility.
Stretching restores natural balance and coordination and stimulates circulation.
This class focuses on body awareness and discovery through targeted stretching. Listening to the body creates opportunities for positive change in flexibility and connection.
Equipment/Props: Block, strap or long resistance band, cushion/bolster
GET ROLLIN’
(Rolling Myofascial Release)
ALL LEVELS - 55 MINS
Targeted WERK to address the tissues under your skin. You control the pressure!
Foam rolling addresses areas of muscle tightness and imbalance. Self-myofascial release improves flexibility, range of motion and posture. Foam rolling also promotes faster workout recovery and less pain as you perform daily activities.
Equipment/Props: Cylindrical foam roller, half-round roller, contoured roller, grid roller and massage therapy balls.
DANCE
GROOV3 (™)
ALL LEVELS - 60 MINS
GROOV3 is a choreography based dance class featuring: 1 non-stop DJ set, 2 speeds of choreography and 3 times the empowerment as you DANCE, SWEAT and LIVE, far beyond your workout! Featuring music from the 90s classic and current hip hop, dance and pop as you get your GROOV3 on!
DANCE FITNESS
Zumba(R)
ALL LEVELS - 60 MINS
A mix of low and high intensity moves choreographed interval style featuring Latin and World rhythms. A total workout combining cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility and boosted energy each time you leave class.
